Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026
FreshGeo is a tool. Like any tool, it can be misused. This policy explains what we don’t allow on our service, and what happens when someone crosses the line.
Questions or reports: abuse@freshgeo.com.
Who this applies to
Everyone using FreshGeo — customers, their end users, and anyone on a trial or free tier.
Prohibited uses
You must not use FreshGeo to:
1. Break the law
- Violate any applicable UK, EU, US or local law.
- Facilitate sanctions evasion, money laundering or terrorism financing.
- Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
2. Harm people
- Stalk, harass, threaten or dox individuals.
- Build profiles to discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or other protected characteristics.
- Power unlawful surveillance, whether by state or private actors.
- Generate or distribute content that sexually exploits minors.
3. Abuse the service
- Share accounts, credentials or API keys outside your organisation.
- Resell FreshGeo or white-label it without a written reseller agreement.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or scrape the dataset in bulk for re-hosting.
- Benchmark FreshGeo and publish the results without our prior written consent.
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas or billing.
4. Attack our infrastructure
- Probe, scan or penetration-test without written permission (see security@freshgeo.com for our responsible disclosure programme).
- Upload malware.
- Run denial-of-service attacks.
- Use the service as a staging ground to attack third parties.
5. Pollute or deceive
- Send spam, phishing or unsolicited bulk messaging using data pulled from FreshGeo.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Ignore robots.txt, site terms or opt-out signals on sites you scrape downstream of FreshGeo data.
Reporting a violation
Spotted misuse? Email abuse@freshgeo.com with the URL, account or API key involved (if known), what you observed, and any evidence.
We read every report and reply within 3 business days.
What happens if you violate this policy
We take a graduated approach, except for the most serious cases.
- Warning — for minor or first-time issues. We reach out, explain what we saw, and give you a chance to fix it (usually 7 days).
- Suspension — we pause your access while we investigate. You’ll still be billed for the current period.
- Termination — for serious, repeat or unresolved violations, or for illegal activity. We’ll delete your account data per our standard retention rules.
Serious violations — child sexual abuse material, credible threats to life, active attacks on our infrastructure, sanctions breaches — result in immediate termination and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement. No warning. No refund.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email appeals@freshgeo.com within 30 days of the action. A person who wasn’t involved in the original decision will review. We aim to respond within 10 business days.
Changes
We may update this policy as new abuse patterns emerge. Material changes are announced by email to account admins with at least 14 days’ notice.
